WOW! I have experience with soldering but not with such small components. I have to ask what Solder iron do you have? That must of been a tedious task to solder the chip properly to the board. Hats off to you and many congrats on taking this project to the max and reviving your BE's. SO NEVER CONNECT MORE THEN 5 VOLT TO YOUR USB HUB!ĪND DONT CONNECT MORE ERUPTERS TO YOUR HUB AS YOUR PSU CAN SUPPLY! So i soldered all back, and my computer is still detecting it, but without a working asic. we could repair or change every other part, but not the asic itself. So at least i desoldered the BE100 asic chip and TATAAAA! the asic miner is detected again.īut that also means, the WORST CASE for me!Ĭause every part would be changeable. So i started to desolder every part on the usb miner, exept the silabs chip and the asic.īut still, the silabs chip is getting very hot and the computer dont detected it! Into a working usb miner, and it still was working. I desoldered every part and checked it, and all parts seemed to be ok, i even soldered the components from bad usb miner I ordered brand new CP2102 chips and soldered it in, but the only thing that happens was that the silabs chip got very very hot. i had connected a big fan and 4 block erupters, but asap when i connected the jalapeno power supply, I killed 4 block erupters by connecting a jalapeon power supply to my usb hup. NEVER PRESS "Custom Data Lock" to LOCKED, cause this will permanent LOCK this data and you can never change it back! If you have more, you need to repeat this step with every device, but you need to use different serials!
USB BLOCK ERUPTER SERIAL
It will write your own new serial into the eeprom and now you can connect 2 usb block erupters without any problem. So now goto "Serial Number" and write your own serial into it: If you whant to solve this problem, then you need to write your own serial into the silabs EEPROM chip.Īt beginning standart config of the usb miner looks like this: Usb miners have same serial, causing a conflict. My only other idea is to go buy a powered USB hub or internal USB2.0 PCI card and try to plug the erupter into that.If you connect your usb miner with 2 different usb ports and asap when you connect the 2nd miner into your usb portĪnd you see in device manager that yellow "!" and you dont get 2 usb miners and no comport, then its because all I also tried using the latest version of CGMiner 3.8.1 I also tried every single port on the motherboard and the front of the case. I even tried it without the mouse and still no luck. The only other USB device plugged in during all my testing was an usb mouse.
USB BLOCK ERUPTER WINDOWS
I have ran all Windows Updates, Installed the Intel SDK for OpenCL, and ran the Zidag utility a million times and it still does not work. No matter what USB slot I plug the erupter into, the LED blinks 4 times then stays on.
USB BLOCK ERUPTER PC
This PC case does have a front USB port that is USB2.0 and plugged into the motherboard via connector. I was able to verify that the USB ports are set to provide 500mA and are backward compatible to USB 2.0.
USB BLOCK ERUPTER WINDOWS 7
Machine #2 is also a Windows 7 SP1 64bit machine however, it has a newer motherboard and all the "on board" USB slots are 3.0. Unplugging the Erupter and plugging it into Machine #2 and starting CGMiner gives me the error "No Devices detected!" "Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit" The USB Erupter is plugged into a USB2.0 socket and I am running CGMiner version 3.7.2 It runs with no problems at this time.

Machine #1 is a Windows 7 SP1 64bit Machine with an Intel i5 processor. Additionally, I have searched the forums for the "No USB Device" error and have reviewed the trouble shooting on each thread that popped up. Most of them are outdated regarding Windows 7 and CGMiner.

Let me first say, I have read every tutorial on "Setting up Block Erupters" I could find. It works fine in another machine and has hashed properly for a few days with no/little hardware errors. I am using a "known good" 333Mh USB Block Erupter. This really should be posted to the "Mining Help" board but.I am new so I am forced to post it here.
